Radisson Blu Dhaka Observes Earth Hour

Protecting climate change has become the biggest concern now than anytime earlier in the world. Joining millions across the globe on 25th March 2017, irrespective of race, religion, generation and geography, Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden demonstrated its commitment to protecting the planet by switching to energy preservation mode from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm.

An hour in darkness was observed by switching off most of the building lights, non-essential equipments and machineries like desk computers, pool pumps, boilers, chillers, fans, and reduced AC temperature. The atrium lobby lights were dimmed with the only wafts of light coming from candles.  Guests were encouraged to partake by switching off their room lights, dining in candle lit ambience and enjoying sheer nature by refraining to use any form of energy for 60 minutes.

Earth Hour, the world’s largest and most inspiring environmental grassroots movement, sponsored by WWF (World Wildlife Foundation), and instigates everyone to do something as simple as switching off lights to save energy. The world’s iconic landmarks go dark for one designated hour to support the stimulating cause.    As an integral part of this beautiful planet, Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden initiates such activities to promote less wastage, reduce its carbon footprint and use the earth’s limited resources sensibly to prevent them from getting exhausted.
